Nature has the great potential of creating a certain peace of mind to people who recognize its beauties. It has the power to change the outlook on life, even for a brief moment in time that is sure to stay memorized. Many people daydream throughout the course of working year of a place, a secluded place surrounded by lush vegetation and perhaps near the sea as well. Somewhere the weather is tame and inviting, no scorching hot nor freezing cold, but a combination of summertime warmth and the coolness of the sea breezes. One fisherman cottage on the island of Brač is just the place which contains all these feats.
The beautiful isolated cottage is located on the very shore of the island, where only a few meters of sand and gravel beach separates the property from the sea. It is near the old village of Mirca, and about 3km away from the official center of the island – Supetar. The cottage is made in classical Mediterranean style, meaning it uses stone blocks as its main build material, has a red tiled roof and a spacious terrace which provides a lot of content. The part of the terrace near the cottage is in the shade of a wooden canopy, and there you can a big L-shaped sofa with a coffee table, along with a dining table and a set of chairs next to it. Out on the further part of the terrace is a stone fireplace, allowing you to make delicious barbecue and have a feast outdoors. As it progresses towards the sea, the terraces ends to make place for a fine granulated white sand where a number of slim pine trees grow. There you will find a special lounging place adorned with a stone table next to which you may position deck chairs and bask in the sunlight. The cottage offers a grandiose view of the open surface of sea called the Brač channel, and over it all the way to the mountains of continental Croatia.
The interior of the cottage is as lovely as the exterior, especially with all the components of good taste. The walls are painted in clear white, aside from the bedrooms where instead of regular walls you will find exposed stone as the wall surface, which create a cool rustic atmosphere when combined with the wooden flooring and the ceiling with visible wooden beams. The living room has a lovely fireplace, elegant furniture and a flat-screen TV (satellite). The kitchen is fully equipped your eventual cooking needs, with a top stove, a dishwasher and an oven. The cottage has 2 bedrooms that allows accommodation for up to 5 people, and 2 bathrooms. The place is air conditioned, with internet and WiFi, a maid service and a private chef, both on request. Additional notes include the following: a parking space is available, pets are not allowed, smoking is not allowed as well, and long term lets (over 1 month) will be considered.
For most of the daily shopping needs, you can find a few stores and bakeries around the center of Mirca. For other content, you might want to check out some of the landmarks of Brač: the official center of the island, Supetar (9km) where, apart from all the festivities throughout summertime, you may explore the town’s history – mostly venetian baroque buildings from the 18th century, along with the 19th century expansion buildings. There is also the old town of Bol (42km) with all the interesting architecture and options such as wind surfing near the famous Zlatni Rat beach, rent-a-boat, jet-ski, etc. Above Bol towers the highest peak of Brač, Vidova Gora, from where you can enjoy a majestic view all around.
