Studio Zavala is a gorgeous property on the island of Hvar, located only 30m from the clean, turquoise sea. Its south-facing position provides a perfect, mesmerizing view of the sea and the adjacent island of Vis. The property is perfect for people looking to relax and spend their days unwinding on the beach. The house was built in a traditional fashion of the Adriatic, like the many old, even historical houses you can find in centuries old island towns. That means its main building block is high quality stone, both on the inside and out, while the doors and windows are covered with wooden shades. The roof of the house sports classical red tiles, also one of the characteristics of this type of house. Near the house you can find yourself immersed in the nature of the island, as it is surrounded by trimmed grass and various vegetation like pine and citrus trees, shrubbery and the like. They all smell very pleasant, which is one more thing to enjoy while spending peaceful days on the island. The trimmed grass by the house is interrupted by the dolomite rocks of the shore descending into the sea. The terrace of the house is covered by a wooden roof on stone pillars, and there you can find a small coffee table with a set of chairs, intended for enjoying your breakfast, a tea or coffee break, or just regular leisure time.
With the exterior being old school, some parts of the interior have been furnished with antique inspired furniture as well. It is a big plus for the house as a whole, mainly because it creates a rustic style many people look for in places like this. There is also more than a pinch of romantic atmosphere within the place, along with comfortableness and warmth. The effect is gained with the use of wooden furniture and other elements, and of course, with the big indoor fireplace with a mantelpiece in the living room. The ceiling bears exposed wooden beams and planks, all lacquered and accentuated by the lovely chandelier above the white dining table. There are no set beds, but 2 couches that pull out to become queen bed making the property appropriate for 4 people. The dining table accommodates 6 while the outside terrace seats 4 people. The kitchen has a breakfast bar and contains all amenities required for cooking including a gas stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, and two large double sinks. There is no dishwasher available. The entire property is cleaned once per week. Sheets are changed once a week unless otherwise requested. Clean towels can be provided upon the request of the guest. The rental fee that you have paid will provide for 3 hours or normal cleaning after your departure.
The village Zavala has a restaurant a walking distance away from the house, and shops, ATMs, medical services, a market and many bars and restaurants are about 10km away in Jelsa. There is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski and guided tours, and festivals that are often held in the old town. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views).
