For anyone who wishes to enjoy some quality time in the Adriatic coast, Makarska Riviera is definitely an excellent choice. Villa Maro is located in a little town called Baška Voda, a few kilometers north of the town of Makarska. It is a house built in modern fashion, following minimalistic principles like the simplicity of shapes and lines, as well as implementing quality materials in its use and having functionality of space. The villa’s façade is white, with a number of glass surfaces. The very position of the villa is one of its greatest benefits. It may not be right next to the sea, but being on the slopes of a mountain, in the outskirts of a village, it contains all the elements to ensure you a good rest in peace and quiet of nature. Around the property vegetation is rich and varied, while behind it looms the great white dolomite mountain Biokovo. In front of the villa is the Adriatic sea in all its glory with the islands of Brač and Hvar. The villa has quite a spacious outer terrace, which is all tiled and which houses a pool. By the pool there are a few sun beds, along with an area covered by parasols under which you will find sofas and a coffee table. On the other side of the villa is an open fireplace where you can make barbecue and have a feast outdoors. The patio of the house serves as a parking space for vehicles.
The villa has a very cool, modern interior design which you are sure to enjoy. The furniture in all of the rooms is elegant and very comfortable, especially the beds and living room sofas. Shelves in black and white are attached to the walls and contain various lovely ornaments and other decorations such as pictures and plants. The floors are tiled light gray and the walls are for the most part painted white, so the sunlight reflecting from those surfaces creates an atmosphere of freshness and opens the space. The lighting system is well-executed, sometimes reminding one of sci-fi films, especially with the carefully implemented neon lighting. It is in no way extravagant, but soft and very pleasing. For all of those who like a vacation with a little added luxury, it is just the right place. The kitchen is also new and fully equipped for all your daily needs in terms of meal preparation. The villa can accommodate up to 8 people in its 3 bedrooms, which is ideal for families or a group of friends. There are 4 bathrooms, as well as a living room, a dining room and the kitchen. Villa Maro is air conditioned, with internet and Wi-Fi available. Maid service is available on request.
As far as grocery shopping is concerned, you can find shops, markets, bakeries and kiosks in the Baška Voda village down at the coast. Alongside that, there are a few very fine restaurants (or taverns as they are called in Dalmatia) and some nice cocktail bars. The village, in the old days a community of farmers and fishermen, traders and sailors, was transformed in a modern touristic destination through the hard work of its inhabitants, keeping in that process its core characteristics of a small Mediterranean town. There is much to explore in the place, but more can be experienced in the larger places, like the town of Makarska or the city of Split. There are appealing opportunities outside of the village as well, like visiting Krka national park, Biokovo nature park (there are some great hiking trails), the town of Mostar, Dubrovnik, Botanical garden Kotisina, Park forest Osejava and more. There is a wide selection of summertime activities in Baška Voda and Makarska (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.), as well as a ferry in Makarska that can take you to Brač.
