For a larger family or groups of friends, this villa in Kastel Stari is an excellent choice. The village in which it is situated is located some 10km from the center of Split, the biggest and one of the most popular cities of the Adriatic coast. Villa Lion is positioned on the outskirts of the village, in a lower population density area, so there is certainty of getting a proper rest in the privacy of the property. The surrounding area is known for all the natural riches, the hillsides which gave birth to vast flora and fauna, let alone the lovely Adriatic sea which can be viewed from the villa’s terraces.
Villa Lion lives up to its name through its majestic design, which blends traditional elements with ones of contemporary architecture, and in a very fine way. The villa has two floors connected by the outer staircase, and each of those two floors has a large terrace with a rounded edge and a white fence consisting of small concrete pillars. Larger pillars made of stone support the upper terrace of the villa. The prevailing colors are light orange and white, and one intricate traditional element of the villa is the curved upper line of windows and doors. Apart from being so imposing in itself, the villa is surrounded by an open and spacious courtyard, which is paved with shattered stone plates. The courtyard has a lot of interesting content, like some sculptures, sculpted plants, patches of ground with various sorts of vegetation, and most importantly, the central part which houses a round pool. Next to the pool there are some wooden deck chairs wherein you can lay and enjoy the Sun. Two lamp posts by the pool are an excellent addition that create a lovely atmosphere at night. By the villa there is a fireplace fit for making barbecue, and you can have nice feasts on the lower terrace equipped with a stone table and a set of benches. The interior of the villa is very elegant and well-furnished, with all the elements positioned in a way that makes the most out of all spaces. Living and dining room are one large space with fine black and white furniture and marble floor tiles. The walls are white and decorated with some lovely landscape paintings, and the light reflected off them makes the place airy and fresh. The living room has a LED TV, and the kitchen on the opposite side is fully equipped for your meal preparation needs. The 2 floors of the villa house 7 bedrooms with lovely new beds, and 5 bathrooms. Villa Lion is pet friendly, air conditioned and it has internet access (Wi-Fi).
As for the grocery shopping, there are stores, bakeries and markets in the Kaštel village where you can find most of what you need. Larger shopping malls can be found in Split and Trogir, and those two are also great opportunities for some exploration and learning. The historic town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is about 9 kilometers away. There you will find numerous cultural and historical sights, beautiful beaches, promenades, lots of entertainment and sport facilities for all generations, as well as restaurants with excellent Dalmatian cuisine and high quality home-made wine and olive oil.
