House of the Sun is a perfect abode for all who are in need for some peace and real rest in the holiday season. The house is located in Junčeravan near the village of Sutivan, a quiet corner of the island of Brač. In itself, Brač is well known for its natural beauties and its size (the biggest in the Adriatic), while it provides a lot of content for the tourists looking for a great time. The locality of this house is filled with vegetation that looks and smells gorgeous, a house here and there, but the population is relatively sparse. Not a completely Robinson Crusoe style, but not too far from it, if your imagination serves you well!
The house is made out of stone, and a pretty good and high quality stone, the main building block of this part of the Adriatic. Some of the courtyard is paved, also in stone, but mostly it’s all green grass and a number of hundred year old olive trees all around – and they never fail to create a particular sort of summertime romantic atmosphere. The terrace in front of the entrance of the house if covered by a canopy, and there you can relax a bit sitting by the table, eat your meals outdoors, or just hang out. Since meals are mentioned, there’s a stone fireplace close to the terrace and there you can make some tasty barbecue!
The warm feeling you get standing outside the house intensifies upon entering it and seeing the lovely interior. The furniture is a mixture of traditional and modern, both in shape and color, but it is a great match. The living room, for instance, has a turquoise sofa, a Persian rug, a wood-glass table, and while all the walls are painted white, one wall of the living room is made in stone… This is just one example of how different styles merge into great harmony, and such an example repeats throughout the interior. The house has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, the kitchen, the before mentioned living room and a large spacious terrace with sea view. It is equipped with a fridge / freezer, a stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, 2 TVs, air conditioning, a fan on the terrace, Wi-Fi, a coffee machine, a toaster, a mixer, a water heater, an iron with an ironing board and a hair dryer. All amenities for a comfortable stay are available in the house (bed linen, towels, dishes...) The nearest place is Sutivan, 5 minutes away by car, where there are shops, post office, restaurants, tourist office etc.
For other content, you might want to check out some of the landmarks of Brač: the official centre of the island, Supetar (9km) where, apart from all the festivities throughout summertime, you may explore the town’s history – mostly venetian baroque buildings from 18th century, along with 19th century expansion buildings. There is also the old town of Bol (42km) with all the interesting architecture and options such as wind surfing near the famous Zlatni Rat beach, rent-a-boat, jet-ski, etc. Above Bol towers the highest peak of Brač, Vidova Gora, from where you can enjoy a majestic view all around.
