HR4 Villa Hvar

Description

The gorgeous Villa Hvar was built in the Baroque period, sometime between 1590. and 1612. It has been placed under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the Republic of Croatia, due to its historical value. However, because of the demands of modern life and the rise of tourism, the building was upgraded to a new level, while keeping its core elements of centuries past. From 2007 to 2009 the building and the interior courtyard/garden were reconstructed and adapted according to the instructions of the mentioned Institute, as well as furnished as a luxury residential building for tourism. The property has an indoor space of 450m2 and a 200m2 garden.
The position of the villa is one of its many advantages, as it is located in the second row from the marina, thus providing an excellent view of the bay and the center of Hvar. It also benefits a lot from the 2m high stone wall that encloses the courtyard, giving one all the required privacy. The courtyard with the garden is a spacious surfaces that is home to a variety of classical Mediterranean flora, like oranges, figs, lemon and lavender. A big dining table for 10 people is located in the courtyard as well, and is a perfect opportunity to enjoy some outdoor barbecue or other meals. The courtyard features a pool as well, accompanied by a number of deck chairs.
On the ground floor, there is the main entrance with a staircase and a water tank. The elevated first floor consists of the living room (45m2) with a balcony door, two double rooms (27m2 and 20m2 and each with a bathroom), a hallway, WC, kitchen with a dining room (35m2) and balcony door. The first floor houses a hallway that connects three double bedrooms (50m2, 36m2 and 25m2) – each with its own bathroom. It is connected to the Baroque palace on the ground floor. The first floor has an indoor pool of approximately 25m2 with movable walls that can be opened, transforming the pool into an outdoor pool connected to the garden. The lowest floor houses wellness facilities (40 m²) which feature: sauna, whirlpool, lounge room, massage room, shower, WC and a small trim. Connected to this property is a wine cellar with a selection of first class Croatian and foreign wines. Maid service and a private chef are available per request.
As far as your shopping needs are concerned, the old town of Hvar, as well as bigger towns like Jelsa and Stari Grad have a sufficient amount of general stores, bakeries, liquor stores and marketplaces. Apart from all the restaurants, bars and night clubs, there is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski, sailing, diving and guided tours, and all kinds of festivals are often held in town. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views). For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
