With the approach of summer, many seek a destination to properly refill their batteries after a year of hard work in the fast-paced surrounding of the cities, with all the noise, commotion, smog and many distractions. One way of recharging is by connecting with the riches of nature, such as the clear sea, fragrant flora, lively fauna and nice weather. The other way might be in engaging summertime activities, like sailing, windsurfing, waterpolo, swimming, jet-ski, food and wine tasting, and more. In each case, here on the grand island of Brač you can have all your wishes fulfilled.
Villa Jelenka is located in the old fishing village and a municipality of Postira on the northern coast of Brač. It is a lovely, big villa built in a classical Mediterranean fashion, which encompasses traits such as the usage of stone as the main building block, wooden window shades (painted green), balustrades on the balconies and red tiles on the roof. Apart from all these great features that shape the outlook of the house, there are other things worth mentioning. Aside from the functionality in terms of a parking space behind the villa, it would be important to mention the positive qualities such as the spacious two-level terrace and the proximity to the coast. So, the first level of the terrace is the one you enter from within the house and it is a roof covered space with a big dining table, a set of chairs and a fireplace built into one of the surrounding walls – a perfect opportunity for outdoor barbecue! The second level of the terrace is divided in two, one part being a lovely pool, and the other being an open surface on which a few sun loungers are positioned. It provides the classic combination of sun basking followed by pool refreshment. If you, however, decide to visit the beach, it only takes about a 5 minute walk.
The interior of Villa Jelenka is quite colorful and quite lovely. The kitchen and the dining room are furnished in a rustic Mediterranean style, with a lot of wood (even the chandelier is wooden, with a fishing net strung over it), a lot of maritime ornaments and decorations like the pictures, paintings and postcards, and the most captivating utility – an indoor fireplace which gives the room a very special atmosphere. Most of the furniture and decorations throughout the rest of the house is equally lovely, mostly traditional like the wooden cabinet, wrought iron living room table, with an addition of some modern yet unobtrusive elements. The overall atmosphere of the interior is very home-like, warm and comfortable. The villa can accommodate between 6 and 10 adults, or several families with 2-3 children. There are 4 lovely decorated rooms, some with an exit to the balconies, 3 modernly furnished bathrooms with all the necessities for everyday life, a spacious living room and two kitchens equipped for all your cooking needs. The place is air conditioned, pet friendly, with available internet and WiFi. A maid service is available on request, and so is the private chef if you’d like to try some local cuisine at home.
Now for some general exploring suggestions; you might consider visiting Vidova Gora right above Bol (the highest peak of Brač offering a stunning view in every direction), Supetar (the island’s official center, providing a lot of content in the likes of festivals, fisherman fests, etc.) and Blaca hermitage (a remote 16th century monastery built into a cliff). Bol itself offers plenty of entertainment in the form of summer fests, rent-a-boats, windsurfing, jet skiing etc. More information will be provided on your request, so feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
