Villa Dolphin is a wonderful stone house situated in the village of Mokosica in the canal called Rijeka Dubrovacka, separating the northern side from the old city of Dubrovnik. Before going into a more detailed description of the property, a few things about the locality should be mentioned. Firstly, Mokosica is a quiet, relatively little place with low population density and with very approachable residents. It has a few stores and markets, along with a restaurant and some good café bars. The beaches are rocky and very pretty, but for more content we suggest visiting Dubrovnik, as it offers a lot regarding history and summer activities. The area around the canal is stunning, rich in various types of flora native of the Mediterranean, like citrus trees, cypress, pine forests, palms and fragrant bushes like lavender and rosemary.
This villa was built in traditional Mediterranean style, which includes a number of characteristics. The main material used is high quality stone which adorns both the façade of the house and the walls of the enclosure. The stone is bright and the window and door shades are green. Some modern touches were added to create a fine blend of styles, which is visible in the lovely balconies with a stylish metal fence. You approach the property from the lower street level and park the car in the private garage. Then as you ascend towards the villa, you pass next to levels of the garden, a lovely and large patch of greenery, which contains a wide array of flora, including flowers and small trees. The paved courtyard is divided in two levels, one being the terrace around the villa, while the other is a recreational area with a swimming pool and Roman steps. The area by the pool is decorated with some amphorae and furnished with wooden deck chairs along with a parasol, making it an ideal place to enjoy some time basking in the sunlight. The upper terrace is equipped with furniture consisting of sofas, coffee tables and a dining area under the shade of a red parasol. Around the villa is a continuation of the leveled gardens, which makes a short walk on the property an experience in itself. The interior of Villa Dolphin is very tasteful and lovely, and boasts a lot of eye-catching elements. The furniture, even though being new for the most part, is often vintage with some of them being true antiquities. The flooring is wooden, as is the majority of furniture including the dining table and its set of chairs, the lovely tall cupboard, commodes, night stands and more. The sofas of the living room and the beds are very comfortable and stylish, while the décor of the villa is rich in every way. There are a lot of framed figurative and abstract paintings, mirrors in antique wooden frames, vases, old clocks, vintage lamps and chandeliers and many other ornaments that fit perfectly into the whole picture. The upper floor is a bit different from the lower one, being furnished in more of a contemporary style, but still with great elegance. The villa has a small gym with some exercise devices, and a foosball table for your leisure. It accommodates up to 8 people in 4 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and 1 toilet. Villa Dolphin is pet friendly, air conditioned and has an internet access (Wi-Fi). Maid service and a private chef available on request.
We suggest visiting Dubrovnik for a lot of engaging content and a truly memorable vacation. Dubrovnik is claimed to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, mostly due to its perfectly preserved centuries old architecture, rich history, warm southern climate, emerald green and dark blue sea spilling into numerous bays and coves, with steep reefs decorated with lush Mediterranean and subtropical flora. The City of Dubrovnik is under UNESCO protection due to its long history and heritage – the real origin of the city is unclear, but it certainly is an old city, persevering on its stony cliffs for at least 14 centuries. There is a lot of things to do and explore within the city limits, be it in historical aspects or purely for fun (like sports, sailing, yachting, nightlife or fine cuisine). For more info, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
