After a year of hard work, we all wish for a good and quality rest. And perhaps, memorable as well. There is something for everyone, and people go all over the world to find respite from their usual lifestyle and breathe some novelty into it. For all of those who seek a place with vast natural treasures like abundant flora and fauna, lovely fragrances, beautiful views of the clean sea, the islands and the mountains of the continental coast, Hvar is the right place. Aside from the natural beauties, the island offers much more!
Rustic villa is a lovely house in the village of Dol, which is about a 15min drive from the Hvar town. It bears the name with pride, and with proper cause, as it is one of the truly original Mediterranean houses, with all their characteristics. Its main building block is high quality stone, roughly shaped to give it the right look, while the doors and window shades are green painted wood. Alongside that, there are many other attractive elements in its exterior, like the spacious courtyard that is mostly paved, with a trimmed lawn on either side. Being in a small village such as Dol, the property provides visitors with the peace and quiet they’d been anticipating. This peace may be enjoyed on the terrace behind the house, under the shade provided by the vines growing over the iron pergola. In the courtyard you will find a lot of vases with plants, along with some gardens with smaller trees. One of the lawns houses a fireplace fit for barbecue, which in combination with the table under the pergola provides a great opportunity for an outdoor meal. The middle part of the courtyard has a swimming pool with a couple of deck chairs next to it, creating a perfect leisure spot!
Most, but not all of the interior is in accordance with the name of the villa, as some areas are designed and furnished in an old school, rustic fashion, while the others are quite modern, though also implementing some of the traditional elements. The walls of the living room are for the most part stone-made, with nice, white / gray tiled floor and white ceiling with exposed wooden beams and planks. The furniture is quite elegant and modern, but perfectly fitting to the surrounding space. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with all the means in terms of daily meal preparation. There are 5 rooms with very comfortable beds and mostly wooden furniture, but with white walls and contemporary elegant lighting, which differentiates them from the rest of the house. The 4 bathrooms are all delightfully designed and equipped. The villa is air conditioned, with maid service and a private chef available per request.
For grocery shopping, there is a shop in the village, but if you gave greater needs both in terms of shopping and content overall, you should head to one of the towns (like Hvar, which is the closest one to the villa) where you will encounter rich history and architecture, fancy restaurants and bars, along with a variety of summertime activities like rent-a-boats, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, jet-ski, sports and much more. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views). For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
