HR31 Villa Jagodana

Description

What exactly is it that invites so many people to the Adriatic throughout the summer months? There are many things to behold in this little slice of paradise, and with the ecological decline of many beautiful natural treasures of the world, the Adriatic coast has been lucky enough to retain a low level of human interference in its nature. The islands are full of vast flora and various fauna, the sea is one of the cleanest in the whole world and the weather is mild, with warm sunny days and occasional summer storms that refresh the ecosystem. Some of the islands also have a rich content in terms of historical legacy and summer activities like festivals and sports. One of those is Hvar, a place you are sure to enjoy!
Villa Jagodana is a gorgeous one bedroom house on the island of Hvar, situated in a little village called Zavala. The house is special in many ways like its position its content, but the most visible one is the design. The structure is designed in a traditional fashion, or the Mediterranean style of the past centuries, meaning that is stone-made, with a lot of wood inside and out, a red tiled roof, and a rich vegetation around it. The entrance is under the shade of a bamboo pergola, and the doorframes are all wooden. Window frames as well there is a special, lounge area next to the entrance with a round swimming pool and a bar, along with a circular stone drywall which can be used, and is intended to be used in places as a bench. The bar is covered by another pergola, so the whole area can be used during hot hours of the day to get some refreshments by the pool. The view from this whole courtyard is magnificent, covering a wide surface of the turquoise sea and the adjacent island of Vis. Another area of the courtyard has a fireplace and two tables with sets of benches beside them, and the area is intended for enjoying outdoor meals. The interior is just fantastic, as it incorporates a wide array of wooden elements and interesting pieces of furniture. Being entirely made out of stone, and with terracotta tiles on the floor, the inclusion of so many wooden elements creates a warm and romantic atmosphere in this rustic, almost antique interior. The ceiling is exposed lacquered wooden beams and planks, the table and the bench beside it also wooden, along with a couple of chairs, wine holders, cupboards, wardrobes and decorations. The house is perfect for families and friends looking to spend their days relaxing in a picturesque landscape surrounded by the best beaches that Hvar has to offer.
The village Zavala has a restaurant a walking distance away from the house, and shops, ATMs, medical services, a market and many bars and restaurants are about 10km away in Jelsa. There is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski and guided tours, and festivals that are often held in the old town. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views). For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
