Everybody needs a nice, quality rest from time to time. Especially after long months of tough work in the past-paced city life, with all the commotion, noise and air pollution – after exposure to such environment, it is particularly incumbent for people to find some peace and recharge lost energy. One of the best remedies is the seaside, someplace with lush vegetation, clear air, nice weather, clean sea… And Brač is just the place that encompasses all of that. Known as the biggest island in the Dalmatia region, it is an island full of life, rich both in flora and fauna, with plenty of engaging content during the holiday season.
This luxury villa is situated in a private resort with controlled access in Sutivan on Brač. It is built using stone as the major building block, which is the unwritten rule of the Mediterranean, as well as the widely used green window shades and red tiled roofs. The villa is therefore built in traditional fashion of the locality, with a further advantage of having a lot of open ground around the property ensuring a proper touch with nature. The master bedroom on the ground floor and the big living room with a kitchen (plus the indoor dining area) have access to a large dining terrace covered by a wooden beam canopy. The terrace is a vantage point overlooking the village, the sea beyond it and all the way to the mountains of the continent. There is a fireplace on the terrace, excellent for barbecue. A few steps along the paved path lead to another terrace with a swimming pool. Next to the pool a few deck chairs are positioned, and when you’re done basking in the sun and refreshing in the pool, you may find cover under the nice wooden pergola by the pool. A few garden levels lower is a cool trampoline where kids can play, if they wish.
From the inside the villa is just as lovely as their exterior and surroundings, with a well-designed and well used space. Mostly the colors used are light and open, like the white of the walls and ceilings, along with some of the elements. The furniture is modern and very elegant, as is the sofa in the living/dining room and the elements of the kitchen. The kitchen is well and thoroughly equipped with all the necessary components for your daily cooking needs. There are two bedrooms within the house, one on the same level as the dining room and the bathroom, and the other one in the attic. A wooden staircase leads to the attic, which is basically on the balcony within the house (there is no wall that closes the room from the area of the kitchen/living room. There are exposed wooden beams in the ceiling, which is a great designer touch to the overall good atmosphere of the interior. The place is air conditioned, with available internet and WiFi.
For most of the daily shopping needs, you can find a few stores and bakeries around the center of Sutivan, as well as a few cafes. For other content, you might want to check out some of the landmarks of Brač: the official center of the island, Supetar (9km) where, apart from all the festivities throughout summertime, you may explore the town’s history – mostly venetian baroque buildings from the 18th century, along with the 19th century expansion buildings. There is also the old town of Bol (42km) with all the interesting architecture and options such as wind surfing near the famous Zlatni Rat beach, rent-a-boat, jet-ski, etc. Above Bol towers the highest peak of Brač, Vidova Gora, from where you can enjoy a majestic view all around.
