After a year of hard work, we all wish for a good and quality rest. And perhaps, memorable as well. There is something for everyone, and people go all over the world to find respite from their usual lifestyle and breathe some novelty into it. For all of those who seek a place with vast natural treasures like abundant flora and fauna, lovely fragrances, beautiful views of the clean sea, the islands and the mountains of the continental coast, Hvar is the right place. Aside from the natural beauties, the island offers much more!
Holiday Home Pitve is located in a quiet village of Pitve overlooking the town of Jelsa on the island of Hvar. In the very vicinity of the house, about 3km, are the most beautiful beaches on the island. As the house, or cottage, is situated in the upper part of the village, it is a perfect place for anyone in need of some peace and relaxation. As you approach the property, you can’t help but notice the authenticity of the both the building and the surrounding houses. The façade of this and other houses are made of massive high quality stones, much like it was done in the old times, five centuries ago. Therefore, if cultural immersion is your thing, this is a perfect opportunity as it looks as though time has frozen in this little slice of the beautiful island. Just outside the cottage there are stairs leading to a large terrace, which is completely hidden away from sight. This area is perfect for lounging in the day or sipping wine under the stars by night. This beautiful house also features an outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub.
Furthermore, as you walk into the house through a massive oak doorway, your attention is drawn to the opposite wall where a small Mediterranean garden rests. Two steps down from the doorway take you to the main living room with the kitchen, and here you see that unlike the traditional outlook of the exterior, the interior is in accordance with the elegant style and content of modern design. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need for daily meal preparation, including induction cookers and multi-use microwave/convection oven. The middle of the room houses a large granite dining table with a set of chairs, and past it is a small living room with satellite TV and a large fireplace that brings certain romantic and warm feeling to the room. The cottage has two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. One bedroom includes a queen size bed (160x200) while the other room has a custom made bunk bed system (120x200 & 90x200). Since the bottom of this house was originally used as a wine cellar, the back of the house is partially underground. This keeps the temperature inside the house at an optimum, which makes air conditioning unnecessary.
The village Pitve has a restaurant a walking distance away from the house, and shops, ATMs, medical services, a market and many bars and restaurants are about 1km away in Jelsa. There is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski and guided tours, and festivals that are often held in the old town. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views). For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
