Nature is one of the best things around us that has the great potential of recharging our energy spent in mostly mundane work, within the cities, with everything going on in such a fast pace. Many therefore seek refuge in the nature’s embrace, and especially so during their summer vacation. If you also look forward to such an embrace, full of beautiful images, fair weather, clean sea and the perfume of the vegetation, this is the place.
A lovely complex of three villas oriented towards the island Šćedro might be the best choice for a good vacation spent with family and friends. The property is on a hillside in a scarcely populated part of the island, where you can thoroughly enjoy all the peace and quiet the position provides. The nature around the property is untouched but for a few roads and houses, allowing for a complete immersion in the natural riches of the island, all its abundant flora and their lovely fragrances, like that of lavender and fig. Traditional architecture has been employed in the creation of the complex, as all of the houses are stone made, with wooden window shades and a red tiled roof – all the signature aesthetic marks of Mediterranean architecture. The exterior of Old Tree Villa features a spacious terrace with a pool accompanied by a number of sunbeds where you can enjoy the hot summer days. The surface of the property is 220m2, which is plenty of space available for large groups. The wall dividing the pool and the other part of the terrace closer to the main house has a built-in fireplace fit for barbecue, while the terrace table with its set of chairs provides the opportunity of dining outdoors.
As you enter the houses, you find yourself in a warm, inviting atmosphere created by the décor and furnishings of the villa. The floors are either covered in light tiles or wood, and wood is the main element used here that emits the mentioned warmth. You can find a variety of wooden furniture within the villa, like the cupboards, nightstands, benches, chairs, dining tables, coffee tables and more. A particularly fine stylistic addition is the use of exposed wooden roof beams. All of the houses are connected by an upper terrace, spanning some 30 meters, where you can sit on the wooden chairs and marvel at the magnificent view of the open sea and Šćedro island. Another description for the interior would be the word rustic, as it incorporates a lot of stone, like in the kitchen wholly enclosed by stone walls and covered by exposed wood ceiling, giving it an old style tavern look. The entire Villa is furnished in a very elegant style to reflect comfort and luxury, and a good example is the separate en-suite guesthouse that has a unique shower with exposed stone from the hillside. On the top floor of the main house there are 3 double bedrooms with 2 bathrooms between them. On the lower level of the house one can find a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room.
You can find a shop in the village, but for general grocery shopping we suggest visiting Jelsa or Hvar. You can find most of what you need in terms of grocery shopping in the town centers, along with many bars, restaurants, bakeries, fish markets and more. There is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski and guided tours, and festivals that are often held in the old town. For exploration, we suggest visiting the mentioned Paklinski Islands (largely uninhabited and often described as being among the most beautiful islands in the world), Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views).
