At the foothills of Biokovo mountain, a newly built holiday house is located. Villa Mantea is an excellent, modern Mediterranean villa ideal for families or groups of friends who want to enjoy nature and all the content of the seaside towns. The house is on the outskirts of Makarska town, which is a good thing if you desire some privacy and have better chances of getting proper rest. For everyone who pays special attention to natural beauties, this is the right place. Being on the position such as it is, everywhere you look you will see the grandeur of nature – behind the villa is the great white dolomite mountain, around it is lush vegetation and in front the clear blue Adriatic sea, as well as the islands of Brač and Hvar. The villa is very graceful, designed in modern fashion and following the principles of contemporary architecture like minimalism, fine materials, smooth surfaces and functional space. In front of the villa is a patio serving as parking for your vehicles, and nearby is an open fireplace with a wooden table and a set of benches – an ideal opportunity to enjoy outdoor feasts. Once you climb up from there you reach the main terrace of the villa, where you will find a white wooden pergola under which there are sofas and coffee tables, and perhaps most notably, a lovely swimming pool next to which a number of deck chairs is positioned. In the garden nearby there are swings and a slide for children’s leisure.
The interior of Villa Mantea is very elegant and pleasantly designed, with a touch of vintage as well. The furniture is mostly white, as are the kitchen elements and all the walls. As the tiles are light gray, all the sunlight is reflected upon those surfaces to create freshness, airiness and opening of spaces. The lighting system consists mostly of built-in lamps, along with some long led lamps, but some of the lamps steal the show, like the lovely vintage chandelier in the dining room. The 5 bedrooms are very well designed, as they contain some vintage elements like an old sewing table in one room, or a walk-in wardrobe with vintage doors. All of the rooms have decorations, mostly referencing the beauties of the locality, like the picture of an old Dalmatian street covering one whole surface of the bedroom wall. Along with those 5 bedrooms, the villa has 5 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a sauna and a gym. The house is air conditioned, with internet and Wi-Fi. Maid service is available on request.
The town of Makarska has always been the center of Makarska Riviera region, both in an administrative, political and economic sense, as well as a center of culture and education. It is a tourist center, located on a horseshoe shaped bay between Biokovo mountains and the Adriatic sea. The town is noted for its palm-fringed promenade, where cafes, bars and boutiques overlook the harbor. There is plenty to explore in the city, like its old streets in the center or centuries old sacral building like St.Mark’s church. There are appealing opportunities outside of town as well, like visiting Krka national park, Biokovo nature park (there are some great hiking trails), the town of Mostar, Dubrovnik, Botanical garden Kotisina, Park forest Osejava and more. There is a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties. Grocery shopping can be done in the town’s markets. We wish you a pleasant stay!
