Villa Ivica is an amazing modern villa in the town of Makarska, on the southern coast of Dalmatia. The villa is an excellent choice for families or a group of friends who wish to have a great time on the seaside, enjoying the clear Adriatic sea and plenty of historical and adventurous content. The villa isn’t in the very center of Makarska, which is a plus if you like more privacy and if you want to have a peaceful surrounding during your stay. It is a great place to get a proper rest and refill your batteries after a year of hard work, and especially if you take into consideration all of which is around the villa. It is positioned on the slopes of the great Biokovo mountain, a beautiful dolomite mountain that rises in all its white carbonate glory from the Mediterranean vegetation. Its courtyard and its upper terraces provide excellent views of the Adriatic sea and the islands of Hvar and Brač, which has caused many sighs from all nature lovers! The villa’s design follows the principles of modern aesthetics like minimalism which can be seen in its employ of simple, cubical shapes and straight lines, high quality materials, smooth outer surfaces and space functionality. The courtyard is tiled for the most part, though on its edges pebbles are the used solution. It houses a lovely swimming pool covered by a canopy, and by it there are some sun beds. On the side of the house there is an open fireplace, and as there is a dining table with a set of chairs, you are free to enjoy your meals outdoors.
The villa is fairly large, and it can accommodate up to 10 people. It has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room and a living room. Special amenities include a sauna and a gym! The interior design in Villa Ivica is top notch, with all the spaces equipped with modern, elegant furniture and interesting details all around. The flooring is tiled light gray and most of the other surfaces are white, which in combination with the sunlight entering through the large glass slide doors creates an airy and fresh atmosphere. Décor varies within the villa, and you will find a number of lovely pictures, paintings, plants (like the beautiful Yucca by the kitchen) and other ornaments, as well as some nice stylistic details like the pistachio green drapes, and red framed mirrors. In the ground floor you will find the luxurious fully equipped kitchen, the dining room right next to it and the spacious living room. The stairway with a nice, glass fence leads to the upper floor with all the bedrooms with comfortable double beds and plenty of sunlight, as well as exits to the terraces. The villa is air conditioned and pet friendly. Internet (Wi-Fi) is available. Maid service is available on request, as well as a private chef if you wish to try out some domestic cuisine at the villa.
The town of Makarska has always been the center of Makarska Riviera region, both in an administrative, political and economic sense, as well as a center of culture and education. It is a tourist center, located on a horseshoe shaped bay between Biokovo mountains and the Adriatic sea. The town is noted for its palm-fringed promenade, where cafes, bars and boutiques overlook the harbor. There is plenty to explore in the city, like its old streets in the center or centuries old sacral building like St.Mark’s church. There are appealing opportunities outside of town as well, like visiting Krka national park, Biokovo nature park (there are some great hiking trails), the town of Mostar, Dubrovnik, Botanical garden Kotisina, Park forest Osejava and more. There is a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties.
