The gorgeous Villa Botanical is situated in a little village of Kotisina, famous for its lovely botanical garden and thus a peaceful setting. The village is only 2.5km from the town of Makarska, which is great for a number of reasons: being a bit out of town ensures significant distance from the everyday hustle and all the noise, making the village a good place to get some rest. Furthermore, the very position of the village in terms of natural surroundings is awe inspiring, to say the least. Around the property you have rich vegetation to marvel at, with the open sea in front of you and the dolomite mountain Biokovo behind you. These magnificent views can be enjoyed from a number of places within the villa's courtyard and the villa itself. The style of the building is Mediterranean, which is visible in its use of stone and wood, along with other content. The porch of the villa is covered by a wooden canopy under which is a small table with a set of chairs. The spacious paved courtyard features a swimming pool next to which you will find some deck chairs where you can enjoy basking in the sunlight. There is another lounge area further down which features a mini golf terrain and a pergola covering some lovely sofas. An open fireplace is suitable for making barbecue, which you may enjoy at the outdoor table!
The interior of such a lovely, Mediterranean villa lives up to its standards set by the exterior. The villa is filled with nice, very elegant and light colored furniture, and the general feeling you get upon entering is that of warmth and pleasantness. Other elements of the interior all go hand in hand with each other to form a graceful whole, designed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Some wall surfaces are covered in stone tiles and the flooring is wooden, along with some of the furniture like the TV stand, the living room table, chairs and so on. Decorations vary throughout the villa, ranging from flowers and paintings to the beautiful ancient amphora in a glass confinement in the kitchen bar. The lighting is also commendable, mostly built-in with a couple of designer made lamps. The villa has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, a dining room, living room and a fully equipped kitchen. But the one special feature that makes the villa unique is the old school tavern on the ground floor. The tavern contains the spirit of old times, and is filled with various objects and ornaments used in everyday life a hundred years ago. The furniture there is wooden, of course, and there is a lovely old fireplace to complete the picture. Villa Botanical is air conditioned, with internet and Wi-Fi. Maid service is available on request, as is a private chef. Pets are welcome!
The town of Makarska has always been the center of Makarska Riviera region, both in an administrative, political and economic sense, as well as a center of culture and education. It is a tourist center, located on a horseshoe shaped bay between Biokovo mountains and the Adriatic sea. The town is noted for its palm-fringed promenade, where cafes, bars and boutiques overlook the harbor. There is plenty to explore in the city, like its old streets in the center or centuries old sacral building like St.Mark’s church. There are appealing opportunities outside of town as well, like visiting Krka national park, Biokovo nature park (there are some great hiking trails), the town of Mostar, Dubrovnik , Park forest Osejava and more. There is a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties. Grocery shopping can be done in the village of Kotisina, but we suggest the town’s markets which are a short drive away. For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask!
