Everyone deserves a quality rest after a long year of hard work, and since many of us only have a little slice of free time, it is crucial that we find just the right place to spend that time. It should be somewhere completely different as opposed to the everyday city life, characterized by its fast-paced commotion, polluted air, unnecessary noise and occasional frustration. Such a difference may be find in many places, but most people desire a quiet, peaceful place near the sea – possibly in a tame, friendly village surrounded by great natural beauties. If this is your idea of a good vacation, you’re looking at the right place.
The lovely villa Dia is situated on the outskirts of Novalja on the island of Pag. Along with a spacious courtyard and plenty of content and comfort within the villa, one of its many advantages is the proximity to the sea and many lovely beaches, along with the tranquility such a position provides. The house is a very well designed building, clearly newly built but keeping some of the core elements of traditional architecture, avoiding classical minimalistic shapes that are the trademark of modern aesthetics, and utilizing instead a classical house form, with prominent balconies, Mediterranean window shades and a red tiled roof. There is another smaller villa next to it though, designed in a completely modern way. The property is surrounded by vast flora, including a wide variety of indigenous plants like agave, pine, cypress, lavender, rosemary and the likes. The courtyard is quite spacious, with a paved part for the cars and many surfaces of trimmed grass with a number of lovely palm trees around the property. There is a swimming pool on the border of the enclosure with a lot of sunbeds nearby, along with a few large parasols, making it a perfect place to relax and refresh during hot hours of the day.
The villa contains 4 apartments that can fit up to 18 people. They are all delightfully furnished and decorated, implementing some maritime elements and employing all the feats that create a warm, inviting and home-like atmosphere. The walls are painted with light colors like beige, light orange or white which opens up the space quite a lot. The floors are in places tiled, in other places there is a wooden flooring. All of the apartments are air conditioned, and all of them have terraces with great views of the island and the sea. Decorations include vases with flowers, paintings and various other ornaments that are carefully positioned to make the interior even more lovely. The kitchens within the apartments are fully equipped with all the necessities in terms of meal preparation, the bedrooms have large, comfortable beds and the bathrooms are gorgeous, covered mostly by marble tiles. As the terraces are quite spacious, there is furniture on each of them as well, like the hard sofas, parasols and coffee tables. It is overall a great place either for families or for friends!
Novalja offers plenty of content, whether it is simple grocery shopping or more enjoyable activities like exploration, dining in fine restaurants, drinking great cocktails in the beach bars and more. There are shops around, bakeries, markets (there is always fresh fish for early birds) and a lot of old buildings that still stand as a testament to the days gone and the culture which over time evolved into the modern society. Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, football, handball, basketball, water skiing, surfing and sailing. But the island’s main attraction for young tourists is Zrće beach, one of the prettiest beaches in Pag and definitely the most popular in the Adriatic due to the music festivals and day & night parties.
