The coast of Croatia is without doubt one of the most popular and most desired summer destinations for people around the world, and for all the right reasons. The slower development of Croatian rural areas resulted in the conservation of many traditional ways of life and professions passed through many generations, like those of wine makers and fishermen. Another plus is the relatively untouched nature of the whole country, let alone the coast and its islands. Therefore, for all who wish to experience a peaceful, memorable holiday spent in a true spirit of the Mediterranean, the island of Korcula is the perfect place!
Villa Igor on Korcula is a great place for everyone who likes to be surrounded by rich nature, lovely fragrances of Mediterranean vegetation and vibrant colors in each direction. The villa is located on the outskirts of the port and town of Vela Luka, among centuries old olive trees and pine trees on one side and the clear blue sea on the other. The villa was designed in rustic fashion, using stone as its major construction material, along with a lot of wood. It is a perfect respite in the wilderness of the island, a place where you can enjoy privacy and peace of mind, while still having quick access to the town. One major advantage of the property is its proximity to the sea, which is only some 10 meters away from the ground floor. As you descend towards the sea from the ground floor, you trod over the paved stairway surrounded by plants and reach an open terrace with a white wooden table and a set of benches. From there, the stairway leads down to the platform with a direct and pleasant access to the sea, with some sun loungers positioned there for your leisure. The ground floor of the villa has a nice terrace covered by a wooden roof, with furniture where you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner, or just idle with a book in hand. The prevailing color of the interior is white, with white walls, white wooden flooring and painted beams on the ceiling. This is a fine choice that creates a fresh and airy atmosphere in the house, with a lot of light reflected from the surfaces. The furniture is comfortable and elegant, and decorations are mostly maritime themed and well positioned. The villa offers accommodation for 3 + 2 people; the sleeping area is situated in a spacious loft with a French bed, a single bed and a sofa bed for 2 people. The dining area and the kitchen are situated in the lower level of the villa, with the kitchen being fully equipped for all your needs in terms of daily meal preparation. A baby cot is available if needed. It is also possible to rent a boat/speedboat, windsurf equipment, kayak and diving equipment. The villa is pet friendly, and a private chef is available on request.
Vela Luka is a small town and a municipality in Dubrovnik-Neretva County in southern Dalmatia, Croatia. This town on Korcula is at the bottom of a wide bay which has many indented coves. The town developed at the beginning of the 19th century, and its name means ‘’big harbour’’. You can do all your grocery shopping in town and dine in some of the best seafood taverns on the coast. Furthermore, as the island offers a lot of other contents in terms of nature exploration, summer activities like scuba or sailing, and the rich history of its other parts, we suggest visiting Pupnatska Luka beach, along with Lumbarda beach. A must see is the old 13th century town of Korcula, with its massive fortification walls, plenty of centuries old sacral buildings and amazing cuisine. We wish you a pleasant stay!
