What is your idea of an ideal vacation? If, as an answer to this questions certain pictures start to pop up in your mind, pictures of the sea, sunny weather, lush vegetation and a comfortable accommodation, than we got a place for you. Murter is an island in the northwest part of the Šibenik archipelago, known by its many sand coves, lovely rocky beaches and steep slopes on the southwestern coastline and lively nature.
Welcome to one of the finest villas on the island of Murter, a place that is sure to give you real joy and proper relaxation. It is a large modern villa made in a traditional fashion – its main building block is high quality stone, the windows have classic wooden shutters and the roof is covered with red tiles. But that is far from all there is to the traditional styling. Or, some might say – rustic. The spacious property boasts a wide variety of flora that grows all around the house, and it includes lovely trees like pine, cypress, lemon and olive, big lawns and plenty of brushwood. Apart from that, there is a number of vases with various plants carefully scattered throughout the property and well-maintained. Now, another interesting part is the open terrace with a really large swimming pool (it even has a dive board). Around the pool is a lot of space where sun loungers are positioned, along with a few parasols, so that you can enjoy basking under the Sun. On the far side of the pool is a nice rock sculpture, behind which is the stone drywall of the enclosure. During the evening hours, and accentuated by the light, the wall, the pool and the sculpture become the highlights of the property. Right in front of the entrance to the house is a terrace in the shade of a wooden roof supported on stone pillars – the area is intended as a dining/lounging area, as it even has a stone fireplace built into the wall nearby.
The interior of the villa is equally captivating as its exterior, with an excellent choice of furniture, décor, lighting and features. The rustic look of the exterior is taken into the villa, and used in the form of wooden elements, such as the kitchen, the dining table, coffee, cupboards, wardrobes and dark wood doors. Other traditional touches include the stone wall inside the living/dining room, terracotta floor tiles, Persian rugs, big and small chandeliers and the overall design of the wooden furniture. There is a fine addition of paintings, pictures and various ornaments like the vases, candle holders and framed mirrors that do very good in tying the entire place together thematically. There are 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (one of which has a hot tub), a dining/living room with a kitchen, an outside the before mentioned terrace and a free private parking place. The kitchen is fully equipped for all your meal preparation needs, but if you don’t feel like cooking or if you want to try some tasty local cuisine at the villa, a private chef is available on request. Maid service is also available on request. The place is air conditioned, with internet and WiFi connection.
As for your options outside the property, Murter is an island worth exploring, it has magnificent sandy coves on its southern side and lovely beaches throughout all its coast. Most of your daily shopping need can be fulfilled nearby in the town of Murter. The island offers a lot in terms of summer content, like rent-a-boats, skydiving, fishing, jet-ski, a number of fine restaurants and bars, etc. When you’ve gotten acquainted with the island, in case you are willing to explore a bit more, here are some options: if you are interested in history and architecture, we suggest you visit the cities Zadar (48km) and Šibenik (32km). Vodice (20) is a town in which you can find a lively nightlife, with the clubs, bars, festivals and similar. If, however, your interest lies in discovering great natural beauties there are quite a few: the National Park Krka near Šibenik, NP Kornati, NP Paklenica (close to Zadar) and the Nature Park Telaščica.
