Whether you are looking for a fun holiday spent doing all kinds of summer activities such as wind surfing, sailing around and attending festivals, or a true relaxation in the peace of a quiet part of an old Mediterranean village, this is the right place for you. In each option, you have the nature of Dalmatia’s biggest island to marvel at, its flora, fauna, the history of its towns and the crystal clear sea.
Villa Katarina is located in the town of Sutivan on Brač, and it is a charming house within an even more charming enclosure, the courtyard of which is filled with all kinds of vegetation, like the palm tree, agava, mint, rosemary and other plants typical of the locality. The courtyard is paved in stone, in accordance with the tradition around these parts, creating a real genuine look, which is supported by the stone walls in the parts of the villa’s construction. Within the courtyard is a gas grill, and you can use it to make excellent barbecue, whether it is fish or other meat. After making said barbecue, you may proceed to the terrace in the shade of a wooden canopy, and have a proper outdoor feast at the table while enjoying a magnificent view of the Brač channel, all the way to the continental coast.
Within the villa, you are sure to feel right at home. The combination of colors, furniture and decorations creates a real warm and peaceful atmosphere, and it is even more enhanced in the evening, lighted by the lovely old fashioned lamps. The mentioned warmth radiates from a number of wooden elements used, such as the commodes, the wardrobes, window frames, the roof and the staircase fence. The decorations include carefully placed ornaments like pots, flowers, framed mirrors, and most importantly, a couple of very decent paintings. Villa Katarina has 3 bedrooms (and an equal number of bathrooms); one bedroom with a double bed and two bedrooms with bunk beds. On the ground floor there is one studio apartment with one bed. On the first floor there is living room, a fully equipped kitchen and the mentioned terrace. The stairs on the first floor lead up to the bedrooms and a bathroom. Of course, the entire house is air conditioned, and pets are allowed.
As far as spending time near the sea, you can go for a swim on the beach, which is only a 3 minutes walk from the villa, while the town center with all the restaurants, bars and shops is only a 15 minutes walk from it. Two bicycles are also at your disposal while staying in Villa Katarina. For other content, you might want to check out some of the landmarks of Brač: the official centre of the island, Supetar (9km) where, apart from all the festivities throughout summertime, you may explore the town’s history – mostly venetian baroque buildings from 18th century, along with 19th century expansion buildings. There is also the old town of Bol (42km) with all the interesting architecture and options such as wind surfing near the famous Zlatni Rat beach, rent-a-boat, jet-ski, etc. Above Bol towers the highest peak of Brač, Vidova Gora, from where you can enjoy a majestic view all around.
