Villa Kaia is a gorgeous Mediterranean villa situated on the hills beneath Biokovo mountain, in a village called Gornja Podgora. The surrounding area is rich in vegetation of all kinds, interesting rock formation and a small number of neighboring houses, ensuring you privacy, proper rest and plenty of things to enjoy, especially if you are a nature enthusiast. The villa was built in 2016 in the contemporary Mediterranean – Dalmatian style with a 4 star deluxe rating. It uses stone as one of its materials, which adds to the traditional look, as well as the other characteristic elements like the green wooden window shades, red roof tiles and a spacious, stone paved courtyard. The villa is enclosed by a stone wall, and the courtyard is surrounded by a beautifully designed garden with many indigenous plants of the region: lavender, sage, rosemary, olive and tangerine. By the villa there is one canopy and one wooden pergola, under which you will find a dining table with a set of chairs and a smaller coffee table. The courtyard houses a nice swimming pool next to which sun loungers are positioned. Near the sun loungers there is a stone enclosure where an outdoor shower can be found. On the other side of the villa, built into the stone wall is a fireplace.
The interior of Villa Kaia is very lovely, just like its exterior, and for a number of reasons. It has kind of a vintage look due to the choice of furniture, but since it is all new, it is very comfortable, smooth and in complement to the overall décor of the place. The walls are painted light orange and the ceiling is white. The floor tiles are gray and light blue, while the kitchen elements are white. These light colors create an airy and fresh atmosphere in the villa, and the variety of wooden furniture brings warmth to the place. Villa Kaia has two en-suite double bedrooms. A large and spacious living area is connected to the luxurious, fully equipped kitchen. Long glass wall divides the kitchen from the 200 square-meter terrace with the pool. Heating system in the villa can make your stay comfortable in the early spring months as well as during late autumn, and air conditioning provides freshness during the summer months. Internet is available, with Wi-Fi for mobile devices. The villa also ensures fantastic views of the sea, Makarska Riviera and adjacent islands of Hvar and Brač, both from the courtyard and from the rooms!
The property is about a 4 minute drive down to the village of Podgora next to the sea, a village which boasts beautiful pebble beaches, a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties. Grocery shopping can be done in the village’s markets. If you wish to explore a bit more and immerse yourself in the local culture, you have a great opportunity of visiting some of the cities in the vicinity and learning about their history, as well as engaging in their rich content. The property is a two and a half hour drive to the city of Dubrovnik, 45 minutes from Split and a 7 minute drive to the town of Makarska where you can get a car ferry to the island of Brac.
