Villa Malena is a lovely, luxurious property situated in the village of Gornja Podgora, very close to the town of Makarska. It is a great location for a number of reasons, and it is a good choice for families and groups of friends. First of all, being in such an elevated, small village ensures peace and quiet, so you are sure to get a nice, proper rest from a year of usual hustle. Secondly, it should be mentioned that a nature park is nearby, which means that the whole surrounding area is just amazing – the nature is rich in all kinds of vegetation and amazing views can be seen in any direction you look. In front of the villa is the open sea and you can see the islands of Hvar and Brač in the distance, along with the Pelješac peninsula. Behind the villa is the glorious, imposing dolomite mountain Biokovo, where the nature park is. Villa Malena is surrounded by a beautifully designed garden where the Mediterranean scents: lavender, sage and rosemary complement the shades of olive and tangerine trees. The villa is built in modern Adriatic style, following contemporary principles like minimalistic aesthetics, built-in lighting system and fine materials. The spacious terrace houses a pool next to which a few sun beds can be found – a perfect opportunity to enjoy some time under the Sun. The Property is enclosed by a stone wall, which adds to the traditional outlook. The house is reachable by car and it has four parking spaces.
The villa has 4 stars for a reason, and if not obvious in the exterior, it sure is regarding the interior. Within the house you will find a variety of elegant, comfortable furniture of modern design, like the living room purple garniture and the dark yellow sofa. The floor tiles are light gray and the walls are painted white. That in combination with the large glass surfaces which let in a significant amount of sunlight creates a very airy, open and fresh atmosphere. Decorations vary throughout the villa, ranging from lovely maritime themed pictures and ornaments to lovely plants in vases. Villa Malena has 4 en-suite double bedrooms with large, comfortable beds and flat screen TVs. The bedrooms also have lovely, wooden elements like the wardrobes and writing desks, along with some lovely framed pictures and exits to the terrace. Large and spacious living area is connected to the luxurious kitchen, fully equipped for all your needs in terms of daily meal prep. Heating system in the villa can make your stay comfortable in the early spring months as well as during late autumn, and air conditioning provides freshness during the summer months.
The property is about a 4 minute drive down to the village of Podgora next to the sea, a village which boasts beautiful pebble beaches, a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties. Grocery shopping can be done in the village’s markets. If you wish to explore a bit more and immerse yourself in the local culture, you have a great opportunity of visiting some of the cities in the vicinity and learning about their history, as well as engaging in their rich content. The property is a two and a half hour drive to the city of Dubrovnik, 45 minutes from Split and a 7 minute drive to the town of Makarska where you can get a car ferry to the island of Brac.
