Villa Vitarna is a gorgeous house located in Vitarnja, the countryside elite part of Jelsa, only a minute’s walk from the nearest rocky beach. It is designed in a rustic Mediterranean fashion with added modern elements such as the lovely romantic lighting system that shows its true colors as the sun sets. Most of the villa’s surfaces are made of stone, along with the walls separating different levels of the courtyard and garden. Even though the villa is located in the second row to the sea, it has a 7 meters long swimming pool, which is surrounded by a patch of trimmed grass and a nice shrub hedge, and the addition of sun loungers and the parasol above them makes it a perfect place for rest and relaxation. The 300m2 courtyard / garden is filled with various flora which is always a plus whether you are a nature enthusiast or nor. Its different levels offer different content, for instance one terrace with a wrought metal pavilion and a sofa with a coffee table is a great place for chilling out during hot hours of the day, while the terrace with an open fireplace and a wooden table is perfect for outdoor feasts.
The interior of the villa consists of some 200m2 and follows the rustic theme of the exterior. There is an abundance of wood within the house creating a warm and very pleasant feeling of being home. Such specific elements are those of the kitchen, which is almost completely in wood, some of the furniture throughout the villa, the exposed dark wood planks of the roof, and more. Beautiful old school chandeliers and big abstract painting bring even more life to the villa, and the inner fireplace is a truly fine addition to the living room. The house consists of two floors with a balcony and a high terrace in the roof that offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The ground floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen and living room. On the first floor is the master bedroom with a bathroom (shower) and a balcony. In the basement there is a wine cellar with an excellent selection of quality wines. Altogether the villa can accommodate 8+2+1 persons. It has a private parking for 3 cars, and available internet connection (Wi-Fi).
You can find most of what you need in terms of grocery shopping in the town center of Jelsa, along with many bars, restaurants, bakeries, fish markets and more. There is an abundance of summertime options available like rent-a-boat, jet-ski and guided tours, and festivals that are often held in the old town. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views). For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask. We wish you a pleasant stay!
