DU39 Villa Sea view

Description

Dubrovnik Riviera is known for many things, ranging from glorious natural riches to the ancient history of its towns, especially the one known as the Pearl of the Adriatic – Dubrovnik. The geological configuration of the hillside terrain, the lower continuation of Dolomite mountain range, made it possible for various Mediterranean flora to sprout and prosper. These include citrus trees, palms, pine forests, fields of lavender, rosemary, immortelle and much more, most of which are known for their medicinal properties and fine fragrances. This gorgeous villa is situated amidst this fantastic nature, boasting a mesmerizing view of the sea and the Elafiti islands of Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep, with the latter one being directly across the villa. The village is called Orasac and it is a quiet, peaceful village only 15min from the old town of Dubrovnik by car, and 3min to the nearest beach.
Villa Alexandra was designed to immerse its guests with the local culture and historical heritage, while at the same time providing them with all the comfort of the contemporary architecture. The villa is thus a blend of styles, a merging of tradition and modern aesthetics. Some traditional characteristics are seen in the use of stone in some of its surfaces, especially in the outer terrace and the lovely little Roman inspired colonnade of pillars supporting a wooden beam. Other parts of the villa are designed following the popular principles of minimalism, employing fine straight lines and simple cubical shapes, made of high quality materials. There is an outer bar next to the villa, where you can take a break from the sun’s heat and enjoy a cold glass of juice, beer of some fine liquor. The other part of the spacious terrace houses a nice long swimming pool in a slightly elevated enclosure made of stone and decorated with candles. Next to the pool and towards the sea there is a platform with sun beds and other furniture where you can enjoy your leisure time. A table tennis is setup close to the bar. The villa accommodates up to 15 people in its 7 bedrooms. There are 5 bathrooms, a large living and dining area, a fireplace, SATV, a large kitchen and 2 smaller kitchens (the food can be prepared in the mentioned outside bar as well). The interior is furnished with a great attention to detail and mostly with vintage elements. There is a number of lovely abstract paintings throughout the villa that tie the spaces together and give heart to the place. The walls are painted white so the sunlight reflected from them creates an airy and fresh atmosphere. Most of the furniture is made out of wrought iron, or the thin iron structures inspired by Italian garden furniture, which fits perfectly into the Mediterranean theme of the villa. There are terraces and balconies with amazing, even more encompassing views than the lower courtyard’s, but one especially notable area is the terrace with a dining table and arched wall openings. There you can enjoy many romantic evenings illuminated by the candlelight. The main kitchen of the villa is fully equipped for daily meal preparation. Maid service and private chef are available on request.
As for your daily shopping needs, Orasac can provide most of what you need in its shops and markets. It is a village northwest of Dubrovnik, between Trsteno and Zaton. The village was founded around 1040 AD. It holds plenty of interesting content – for instance, you will notice that the houses are built close to each other in the center of the village, which was once a means of protection from the Neretva pirates. You will find many old churches (like the St Nicholas church from 1250) and chapels, including the Arapovo castle, where the chief magistrate of Florence Piero Soderini is believed to have stayed in 1512. Nearby you can visit the village of Gromaca known for its cave and traditional ecological tourism, the village of Ljubac located in a valley between three hills forming an astonishing natural amphitheatre , or go see and most certainly enjoy the Pearl of the Adriatic itself – Dubrovnik! We wish you a pleasant stay!
