Villa Antonio is an old house on the outskirts of Makarska that was completely renovated for rent in 2012. Now it is a stylish villa adequate both for a family or for friends, especially if you would like a vacation spent in a peaceful neighborhood surrounding. The villa still maintains its traditional Mediterranean look – on its façade you can see some stone blocks of high quality, while the rest of the façade parts are painted white. The windows and doors are covered with green grilled window shades, and the ground floor green wooden doors have an arched upper line. The house is set in a quiet part of Makarska, and flora here is abundant. You will find pine trees, figs, olives and other local plants, most of which emit lovely fragrances. In front of the villa there is a parking space for a couple of cars. Villa Antonio also has a lovely, narrow terrace with a terrific view of the sea and the islands of Brač and Hvar. It is enclosed by the villa on one side and a wooden fence with plant growth on the other. It houses a swimming pool, next to which a few sun beds are positioned to make a great place for enjoying sunny days. Behind the pool there is a wooden pergola under which a wooden table is positioned along with a set of chairs. There is an open fireplace here as well, so you have an option of dining outdoors, under the protection from the Sun.
The interior of Villa Antonio is just amazing. It has some eye catching elements that make up a great combination and bring that vintage spirit to the place. First off, there is a lot of wood within the villa, namely the exposed beams and planks of the ceiling, the wooden furniture like the dining room table with its chairs, a super interesting coffee table in the living room made up of polished chunks of wood, and the white painted wooden kitchen elements. This in combination with the cream colored walls and a lovely indoor fireplace with a dark wood mantelpiece creates a very warm, pleasant and even rustic atmosphere. Decorations are various and carefully placed around the house, mostly consisting of framed painting, pictures, flowers and other ornaments like the round clock, a chessboard, pots and alike. The theme continues throughout the villa, and its two stylish bedrooms are equipped with very comfortable beds and plenty of room to store your belongings. They can accommodate up to 6 people and have an exit to the balcony with a small table and chairs, also overlooking the sea. The kitchen is fully equipped for your meal preparation needs, the villa is air conditioned and internet is available (Wi-Fi).
The town of Makarska has always been the center of Makarska Riviera region, both in an administrative, political and economic sense, as well as a center of culture and education. It is a tourist center, located on a horseshoe shaped bay between Biokovo mountains and the Adriatic sea. The town is noted for its palm-fringed promenade, where cafes, bars and boutiques overlook the harbor. There is plenty to explore in the city, like its old streets in the center or centuries old sacral building like St.Mark’s church. There are appealing opportunities outside of town as well, like visiting Krka national park, Biokovo nature park (there are some great hiking trails), the town of Mostar, Dubrovnik, Botanical garden Kotisina, Park forest Osejava and more. There is a wide selection of summertime activities (such as sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, rent-a-bikes, etc.) and fine restaurants offering truly delicious specialties. Grocery shopping can be done in the town’s markets. For more information regarding exploration or accommodation, feel free to ask!
