For a long awaited vacation, many flee to seaside. Often the feeling of diving into the clean, cold sea symbolizes cleansing from everyday life and the commencement of battery recharge. It is indeed a fine choice, as the natural surroundings have the greatest potential of providing proper relaxation and rest. Many places can provide such refreshment, but rare are those with a truly old soul, traditional Mediterranean spirit and the abundance of untouched natural beauties. One of those rare places is the increasingly popular coast of Croatia, with its many islands and archipelagos, and one of the most prominent examples of all the Adriatic advantages is the island of Hvar.
Villa Suzy is an apartment house situated in a nice bay near the town of Vrboska on Hvar. The house is a beautiful representation of traditional architecture combined with modern functionality, or design. It is designed in rustic style, with stone walls, wooden window shades and a classic red tiled roof. The upper floor terraces are covered with wooden pergolas which provide shelter from the sun. The villa is surrounded by a spacious paved courtyard enclosed by a dry stonewall and surrounded with various vegetation, pine woods for the most part. Other parts of the courtyard are the covered terrace (a roofed area with a number of tables with sets of chairs) which has an open fireplace next by, and the swimming pool next to which a few sun loungers are positioned – a perfect opportunity to bask in the sunlight with a refreshing dip in the pool every now and then. If, however, the gorgeous view of the bay starts beckoning for a swim in the Adriatic sea, the beach is only 25 meters below the house!
The inner décor of Villa Suzy is very delicate, elegant and just too lovely. There is a lot of wooden elements in various light colors like white, pale brown and baby blue, many comfortable pieces of furniture positioned in the living rooms and bedrooms and much more that gives soul to the place. For instance, space is very well used as there are no illogical placements of rooms, they are connected with wooden staircases and doors, the lighting is well chosen, as are the decorations like paintings and flower vases. The villa has 8 apartments and can accommodate up to 36 people. There are 14 bedrooms in total, and 15 bathrooms. The apartments are fitted with kitchens equipped for most of your needs regarding meal preparation, the whole complex is air conditioned and internet is available (Wi-Fi).
The bay where Villa Suzy is located is quiet and private, with only a few neighboring houses. In a bay near the villa is a small shop where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and bread. There is also a small restaurant with homemade Dalmatian food. The closest town is Vrboska- 2km away from the villa, a nice walk through the olive trees and rich nature. In Vrboska you can find shops, markets and lots of restaurants. As for the exploration, we suggest visiting Paklinski Islands right next to Hvar, Šćedro island, the Old Town Plain (if you’re up for some wine tasting), Tvrdalj Castle (a fortified Renaissance-era building that was the summer home of poet Petar Hektorović) and Fortica (a hilltop fortress with picturesque views).
